Anne E. Emmons is a native of Colorado and has lived in Chile, Washington, California, Minnesota and Hawaii. She earned a BFA from the University of Colorado Denver, and an MFA from Azusa Pacific University, Los Angeles. Her thesis project, Incomplete Icons of Personhood, explored the theology and artistic practice of iconography, integrating contemporary views of personhood with a personal commitment to the sacred tradition of the icon.

Her studio work ranges from drawing to water media, egg tempera on wood, encaustic, assemblage, mixed media, and installation. She has exhibited in Denver, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Oregon, New Mexico, Kansas, Massachusetts, and Washington. She is a frequent guest lecturer on art history and iconography.

Art making is most keenly focused upon the human person, and Anne's response through the work is greatly inspired by the wondrous complexity of each person. She has taught art history and studio courses at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, Colorado Christian University, Red Rocks and Front Range Community Colleges, and many public and private art programs in the Denver metro area.
